Check Up & Tooth Cleaning

At Toothco we believe in treating a person holistically. The most important visit is our New Patient Package where we provide a thorough tooth, gum and jaw check.

On your first visit to our waterfront practice on the Sunshine Coast, we want to get to know you and your dental journey so far. We know that a lot of people have had bad experiences in the past and we aim to address this in a calm and gentle manner. We also want to know where you want to go in the future, what are you goals and how can we help you get there. We offer a full range of dental services to help you with all your concerns.

Our new patient package includes all x-rays, photos, diagnosis and a thorough tooth cleaning, polish and remineralising treatment. The cost of this appointment is $249 or no-gap depending on your health fund. 

The examination includes:
 

• An accurate recording and charting of existing teeth, any missing teeth, existing dental work, and any damaged teeth with cracks, tooth decay and tooth wear
• A gentle examination of all gum and periodontal tissues for signs of gum disease or gingivitis
• A thorough examination of the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint or TMJ) for any clicks, creaks or signs of jaw degeneration
• A comprehensive oral cancer check looking at all soft tissue surfaces of your face and mouth including your lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of mouth and throat
• A radiographic examination to look for hidden problems under old dental work or between the teeth, such as tooth decay, abscesses, infection and other issues with the jaw.
• Photographs of your mouth to serve as a record and to show you what we can see.
• A thorough clean and gentle polish along with desensitising treatment or remineralising treatment if required. 

 
We recommend having check ups every six months to prevent any small issues from getting worse or keep an eye on areas we may be monitoring. If you have great oral health you may not need to see us as often. Conversely, if you have complex dental or medical issues you may benefit from seeing us more regularly.
