Why do I need an extraction?
Sometimes if a tooth is very heavily infected or broken, we may have to remove it as a last resort. There are not many instances that a tooth that cannot be saved, but if the decay on a tooth goes deep below the gum, of there is a crack that goes down to the root, the most reliable option may be to have the tooth removed. Another reason teeth may have to be removed is if they are not coming through properly or are very hard to clean. This is often the case with wisdom teeth.
If the tooth does unfortunately have to be removed, quite often there are options to have the tooth replaced: these include an implant, a bridge or a denture. You can read more about these in our services menu.
